The 1966 Mustang

A short and sad history

So way when I was a teen I had my heart set on a 1966 Mustang. Whenever we went to Point Pleasant, NJ we would pass it on the other side of the highway. Year after year after year. I knew I had to find a way to acquire this magnificent hunk of steel! And I did. After tons of saving and haggling with parents and grandparents, I finally had the $1500 I needed to purchase my dream car! Unfortunately nobody told me I would need thousands more to get it into the condition I had wanted it to be in. But I was not so easily deterred - I saved and scraped every penny I could and got her to a reliable state. And then I went off to college across the US. So Musty sat in the driveway getting rusty. By the time I had returned she was rotting away and I didn't have the time or the money for repairs so we parted ways.

The 1965 Mustang

My little nightmare

Decades had passed without another 60's stang of my own. Now married and settled, 3 kids and a home, remote work on the rise, the perfect storm was brewing. I asked my wife if she supported my dream of getting another mustang and she said yes! So I spent months looking around on the internet for a good car with no rust but something that needed a little work. Finally I found this little nightmare (I mean that in the best way) and we're currently stripping the motor down to get everything in show car condition!
